Are you a teacher of primary or secondary aged children, club leader, youth offender worker, or early-learning educator? Get involved in Road Safety Week and receive your free poster pack!

Road deaths are the biggest ‘accidental’ cause of death of children and young people. You can help stop the appalling deaths and injuries by giving pupils the knowledge, skills and attitudes to help stop them being hurt, and by working with your community and local officials to make local roads safer for your pupils . Road Safety Week is a great time to start, and its easy!

STEP 1: Complete this online form to order your free Road Safety Week poster pack today! The pack includes posters aimed at your pupils’ age-range thanks to funding from the Department for Transport. (Your order will be dispatched at the end of September.)

STEP 2: Read our quick tips for ideas you can do in Road Safety Week (includes links to our much more in-depth educator advice centre on the main Brake site).

STEP 3: Complete our quick on-line form to tell us what you are planning to do during RSW. It really helps us monitor the success of this initiative if you can help us by doing this.

STEP 4: Become a Brake school affiliate. For £10 you receive termly e-bulletins full of road safety teaching information. Call 01484 559909 or download our form.

STEP 5: Give something back by fundraising for Brake while educating pupils at the same time, helping us save more lives and support more bereaved families.

STEP 6: Get your road safety policy, risk assessments, teaching and training in place to protect and teach your children year-round, not just in RSW. Go to our educator advice centre on the Brake website, packed full of advice.

STEP 7: Take part in Recognition Express and Brake's 'design a banner' competition and win some great prizes for the children and your school.  Find out more about the 2009's design a mug competition
